Scope:

Working across Finance, operations, Sales and IT teams, the Solution Architect provides architectural leadership throughout the programme lifecycle—from vendor selection and solution design through implementation, testing, deployment, and legacy decommissioning.

Purpose
|
The Solution Architect is responsible for defining and governing the end-to-end solution architecture for the Lead-to-Cash (L2C) Transformation Programme. The role ensures that business objectives are translated into scalable, secure, and maintainable technology solutions that support the future-state operating model while enabling the retirement of legacy capabilities.
Please note: This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

Role
- Define and maintain the target solution architecture for the Lead-to-Cash value stream.
- Develop architectural principles, standards, and design patterns aligned with enterprise architecture.
- Produce and maintain High-Level Designs (HLDs) and oversee detailed solution designs produced by delivery teams.
- Ensure solutions meet functional, non-functional, security, performance, scalability, and operational requirements
- Provide architectural recommendations to support technology selection decisions
- Define how applications, platforms, integrations, data, and infrastructure work together across the Lead-to-Cash landscape.
- Ensure alignment between CRM, CPQ, Order Management, time and attendance, Billing, ERP, and supporting enterprise platforms.
- Identify opportunities to simplify the technology estate and reduce technical debt.
- Ensure architecture supports future business growth and strategic objectives
- Define architectural roadmaps for retiring legacy applications.
- Contribute to the overall programme test strategy.
- Ensure architecture supports functional, integration, end-to-end, performance, security, and operational testing.
- Define architecture validation activities and technical acceptance criteria
- Lead in Architecture Review Boards and participate in Design Authority.
- Review solution designs to ensure compliance with enterprise standards.
- Manage technical risks, assumptions, issues, and architectural decisions.
- Maintain architectural documentation and traceability throughout the programme lifecycle

Person Specification
|
Essential
- Significant experience as a Solution Architect delivering enterprise transformation programmes.
- Experience across Lead-to-Cash processes including CRM, CPQ, Order Management, time and attendance, Billing, and ERP.
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and architectural governance.
- Experience supporting technology procurement and RFP processes.
- Strong knowledge of systems integration, APIs, middleware, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience designing enterprise data models and data migration strategies.
- Experience producing High-Level Designs and reviewing detailed solution designs.
- Experience defining architecture for cloud and SaaS platforms.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to balance strategic architecture with pragmatic delivery.
Desirable
- Experience with Salesforce, and Business Central or similar enterprise platforms.
- TOGAF certification or equivalent.
- Experience within large-scale digital transformation programmes.
- Experience in legacy application rationalisation and technology modernisation
